A lot to work with

I remember asking you to read my writing

and your face twisted to form a question 

why would I do that when I could just get to know you? 

because there are things that cannot roll off my tongue 

because there are parts of me my voice is not strong enough to hold 

in a single conscious stream 

without pausing and without it hurting
