Don't look at the car he drives or the watch he wears
When I was a teenager, at that age when fathers sense that boys are about to enter the conversation, mine sat me down and said something I did not fully understand at the time:
“Don’t look at the clothes they wear, the watch on their wrist, or the car they drive. See if they own a house.”
He wasn’t telling me to marry for money.
He was teaching me to recognize stability.
