I think for me, there’s comfort in knowing that this is ‘my’ person - I’d have the safety of knowing I can depend on them without hesitation or worry, and vice versa.
They’re unique in their own way. Everything from their ‘flaws’ (if you can call it that), nuances, and idiosyncrasies is their’s. It’s what makes them, them.
What I mean is, there’s always going to be someone ‘better’. But sometimes we don’t want better. We want them. And that it’s moreso the connection we share with this person, that we can never find in another again. Similar, sure. But not the same.
